Our Approach
What to expect
Sessions are conversational. We start with what's important to you right now — what's coming up today, what happened this week, what's been sitting with you. Life doesn't pause between appointments and neither do we. What matters most on any given day is where we begin.
From there we slow down together. We pay attention to what you're feeling, where you feel it in your body, and what's underneath it. Not to analyze it from a distance but to actually be with it. Most people haven't had much experience with that. It tends to feel different than therapy they've tried before.
Sessions are conducted via telehealth, which means you can do this work from wherever you are — no commute, no waiting room, just the space you choose.
How we work
There's no predetermined path. The work follows you.
For most clients we spend time getting to know the parts of you that have been carrying things — the patterns, the beliefs, the ways of coping that made sense at some point and may have outlived their usefulness. We help those parts be heard rather than managed. Most people report that when that happens things start feeling easier in daily life, not just in session.
For clients working with specific memories or experiences, we use EMDR — a process that helps the nervous system finish what it couldn't complete at the time. Each session we check in first, then go back into the work. It moves at your pace, in the direction you want to go.
Whether we're using one approach or both, nothing happens without your lead. You're the expert on your own experience. My job is to help you access what you already know.
Why private pay
Choosing to work outside of insurance isn't just a billing decision. It changes what's possible in the room.
There's no mandatory diagnosis required to start. No predetermined number of sessions based on what a payer will cover. No treatment plan written for an auditor rather than for you. The work isn't shaped by what's reimbursable — it's shaped by what you actually need.
What you pay for is undivided attention to your experience, at a pace that serves real change rather than symptom management. That's what this practice was built for.
Individual sessions are $225. Couples sessions are $275.
If I can't help, I'll tell you
Not every therapist is the right fit for every person, and I'd rather be honest about that early than have you invest time and money finding it out later.
If after we talk I don't think I'm the right person for what you're carrying, I'll tell you — and I'll do my best to point you somewhere better. That's not a disclaimer. It's just how I think this should work.
